If it's anything like an Almera of that vintage there will be plastic trim around it that will be removable somehow by force on the Almera then it'll be screwed in and in a proprietory cage that you'll need to transplant to the new unit.

Not terribly difficult once you know what trim to remove and how.

Mr Happy 5, posts months. If so, there's two little black plastic covers which you clip off inside the flippy box bit, at the top left and right of the aperture, and there's 2 philips screws behind them.

Also, if you feel under the heater controls, there's another two philips screws under there. Don't mix them up though, the two on the bottom are flat headed ones. Once you have them all out, the fun starts!

Clip off the a-pillar trims, then you need to clip the top of the dashboard off. There's a single 10mm bolt holding the radio onto the dashboard. You can do it by just clipping the dash up in the middle and using various extension bars to do it I've done it loads of times but the easiest way is popping the top of the dash off.

Once the radio is out, you need to unscrew it from the housing, then it's just a case of screwing the new one in and replacing everything. Pop the ashtray out, two philips screws behind there, then feel along the underside of the bar which seperates the heater controls from the radio, two more philips screws there - once they're out, clip the black plastic bit forward and pivot it up, then take the four screws out of the radio and remove.

A replacement radio's cage will fit through the dash so put the dash back into place first. You'll need Autoleads adaptor PC to convert the wiring. Ah great thanks for the reply. The micra is the top one floppy box modelthe existing radio has two black connectors and also a set of three square coloured ones that fit together, yellow, green and red if memory serves me, of which only the green one has any wires connected to it. Any idea what this is and what i should connect to it? Brilliant, thanks for the excellent reply.Unlock Nissan radio code available for any car model.

nissan micra radio removal

Dracarys Posts: 1, Forum Member. Hello all, I thought I'd ask and see if there are any car experts on here. I've just purchased a new stereo Pioneer DEHUB and would like to try and install it myself, the Halfords lady told me it is quite easy, just a bit of unscrewing.

I've got the adapter as well.

I just need to know how to open it all up. I've looked on ebay and amazon for radio release keys, but it doesn't specify my car model which is Nissan Micra S Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help is much appreciated. Congrats, you've most likely doubled the value of your car. Hopefully you have found the correct adaptor for the block connectors, if not, have fun with the wiring.

Take a look at eh link below, hopefully it's what your looking for.

Thanks a lot for the link, it looks very helpful. Is there a section on fitting a new unit? Dante Ameche Posts: 20, Forum Member. It's been a while since I had mine, but IIRC once you have the old radio out, there is a cage that screws onto it, with 2x screws at each side for securing it to the dashboard. You'll need to screw that onto your new radio, then refitting is just screwing the radio into the dash, then the 4x screws on that black panel that comes off.

Good luck, they're actually nice wee cars and despite being very much at the end of its life with rot, mine was nice to drive. It's dead, dead easy to do. Thanks a lot for the replies, all very helpful. I have had a look on ebay and the PC piece is a quid on there. And this Micra is my first car.Forums New posts Search forums. Nissan Radio Code Generator To Unlock Nissan Car Radio Device

Thread starter micraman Start date Jan 31, After searching the net I still haven't been able to find a decent tutorial or "how to" guide for removing the stereo head unit from a K12 to put a better one in So I followed some rough instructions and took some photos along the way to hopefully help someone else!

Hope it comes in handy folks What you need: Stubby flat head screwdriver. Long flat head screwdriver. Socket set. Think it was 10mm. Step 1- Locate the rubber door trim nearest the dashboard and remove it by starting with the stub screwdriver and then pulling with your hands.

As you can see, only the trim that is touching the plastic pillar above the dash and below the roof needs removing. If you are unsure what a pillar is, see Fig B. Step 2- Now insert your stub screwdriver into the gap the rubber has revealed at the bottom of the plastic pillar and lever the pillar off from bottom to top.

The pillars are only clipped in and will come off easy once you have started. See fig C. Once both pillars have been removed you can start on the top of the dash.

Step 3- Now you need to remove the top of the dash. I've read somewhere that on some models of the K12 you need to remove the plastic cover, which is located at the left hand, front side of the dash and remove a fitting there.

On my girlfriends car there was nothing to remove under this cover but it did come in handy for sliding off the dash. Start with your stub driver at the right or left side and push it into the line between the top of the dash and the front of the dash. Prise upwards and the clips will pop out one by one as you work your way along. The dash is only clipped in at the front edge so once you have gone the full length of the dash it will come forward. Ease the dashboard top towards you.

You may have to wiggle it slightly but it will come out easily with a bit of light pulling. The nuts holding the front console in will then be revealed. Step 4- As you can see in Fig G above, the three bolts are located in the centre of the dash above the facia where the radio and face vents are. With many radios in Nissan cars, codes are used to program and utilize the stereo system's features.

These radios are installed at the dealership in most Nissan cars and the code can be entered from your driver's seat with no professional equipment or prior experience. Setting codes can be done as often as necessary and allows you to control your device. Obtain your vehicle's factory code from the dealership or your car's owner's manual. Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "Accessories," or "ACC," position.

Turn on the radio and wait about three minutes for the radio to stop playing without the car's engine running. Hold down the "4" button on the keypad and a digit will appear on the screen. Use the tuning button to scroll to the first digit in the code.

Press "5" to confirm the digit and use the tuning button to go to the next digit.
